Scion - Rutherglen

Scion is a progressive Rutherglen winery offering a thoroughly modern spin on the region's traditional grape varietals. Expect Durif redesigned and Muscat reimagined.

Established in 2002 from the ground up, Scion was inspired by Winemaker Rowly Milhinch's great-great-great grandfather George Francis Morris, a pioneering Australian vigneron.

We aim to grow exceptional fruit that reflects place and seasonality. We aim to make interesting, sometimes unexpected, but always delicious wines.

In small batches, we handcraft wines that represent modern Rutherglen. We hope you enjoy drinking them as much as we enjoy making them.

We chose our site for its unique combination of soils, northern aspect and gentle slope. Here we planted Linlithgow Vineyard, eight acres of varietals synonymous with Rutherglen and home to our Cellar Door just 2km south of the township.

We are also current custodians of the historic Terravinia Vineyard, four acres of shiraz nestled into a northern slope overlooking the Murray River.

Rutherglen is Bpangerang country. We pay respect to the people who belong to these lands, waterways and skies.
